Allowing us direct access to the unspoilt, and hidden treasure that is Eastern Nepal, we will fly into Phaplu. No longer the airport for the Everest Base Camp trek, the area is free of the mass tourism of the EBC and truly allows you to explore the culture and spirit of the region, without feeling like you’re on a treadmill to the top!
We will acclimatise for the first few days at our beautiful base before we head off on our trek through the historical yak and trade routes, and the magical rhododendron forests, we will then summit Piky (Pee-kay) Peak where you can see both the Eastern and Western Himalayas.
While in Phaplu, we will base ourselves at one of the most uniquely beautiful houses in Nepal. Food is prepared by Mingmar, our head chef, a wonderful character, whose talent in the kitchen is unrivalled. Throughout the trek he produces scrumptious meals (even a freshly made cake baked at 3500 feet).
Ensuring your comfort, and that we all make it to the summit of Pike, we have an unbeatable support team. They provide encouragement and direction during the trek, often telling you of their climbs up Everest or the history of the route, preparing camp, helping to make each delicious meal, and giving you a hot water bottle to keep you toasty at night.
So what are you waiting for…lets jump into the next adventure!
